I’m back after spending a few days sitting back because I couldn’t blog … sliced finger with knife when I was heart-broken and out of body … but now, after half a dozen friends letting me talk their ear off, and a night with Advil PM following a “let’s talk it out lunch” at Bogies’ Café on North San Pedro Road by the Civic Center, with Woodacre’s own Lori Eicher (who I had the pleasure of getting to know during her tenure with Youth In Arts), indeed, let’s look at the market.

So, ponder the chart of sales over the past 15 months in San Anselmo:
Observe this: In August ’09 there were 87 homes available and 10 closed. This August there were 81 homes available and 7 closed. Slightly down, not bad. Now look at June ’09 and June ’10: closings ups. That’s San Anselmo.
Another view, slightly larger: all of Marin, homes and condos, for the second week of this month.
There were 144 new homes brought on the market plus 37 that fell out of escrow, for a total of 181 ‘newly available properties’. During the same week, 124 homes were reduced in price, 41 closed escrow and 38 buyers declared their intention to call the moving van right away (these are the homes that went ‘pending’).
My finger is not enjoying this keyboard activity so … talk to you soon. But first, let me mention that Lori’s daughter, Magic, works for Bruno at L’Appart in San Anselmo. This is the stunning off shoot of one of my total favorite restaurants, Le Garage in Sausalito. As of yesterday, I’ve got a trip planned there with Toni Esposti, Old Republic Title’s property exchange specialist. I’m already drooling over the mussels.
Ouch. But worth the ouch.
