Harvest in the wine country!
The sights, sounds and aromas of wine country are unique at harvest time. From September through early November, expect to see vineyard workers plucking fruit of the vine from the thousands of acres of vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. Expect to encounter the hustle and bustle of transport vehicles hauling tonnage to the many wineries in the region. Spend a warm autumn day touring (windows rolled down) wine growing appellations of Bennett Valley, Dry Creek, Valley of the Moon, Alexander Valley, just to name a few, where the sweet smell of crushed grapes fills the air even as the cool, refreshing fog rolls in off the Pacific.
