Autumn in the North Bay is such a fun, lively time of year, with a wonderful range of local activities and festivals to experience. In addition to the grape harvest, apple picking, and getting star struck, there are the ever-popular and awe-inspiring events that make up the Bay Area’s annual Fleet Week.

The first days in October, the skies and waters of San Francisco and the North Bay fill with sleek aircraft and majestic vessels. The men and women of the Armed Forces come to town and show their talents, offer us a peek at their world, and now, also, to share their expertise. The San Francisco Fleet Week Association (SFFWA) is providing humanitarian aid and disaster assistance to civic emergency agencies. These men and women provide humanitarian aid and disaster assistance on a global scale; a photo display of their humanitarian assistance efforts can be viewed aboard the Eureka at Hyde Street Pier on Saturday and Sunday. They can also strike up some awesome music with their bands; you can catch concerts at Yerba Buena Plaza, Huntington Park, Pier 39, Washington Square Park, and at half-time at the 49ers game.
There are many great viewing points in Marin for the air show. Here are a few of our favorites:

- The Marin Headlands
- The waterfront in downtown Sausalito
- The waterfront park in downtown Tiburon; or catch a ferry from there to Angel Island
- The top of Ring Mountain in Corte Madera/Tiburon
- The open space area above old St Hilary’s, also known as the Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve
But there’s more to Fleet Week than just the air show. Click here for a calendar of events - and enjoy.
